YYB-5 Motor Control Board for Bidirectional Operation of 12V/24V Motors Featuring Dual Relay Delay Timing Module
The YYB-5 Motor Control Board is a compact and low-cost control module designed for bidirectional control of DC motors (usually 12V or 24V). It's primarily used in DIY projects, automation setups, and small machinery where simple timed control of motor direction is needed.
Key Features:
- Dual Relay Design: It uses two relays to reverse the polarity of the voltage applied to the motor, allowing forward and reverse operation.
- Delay Timing Function: The module can be configured to delay switching between directions - useful for reducing mechanical stress and avoiding immediate polarity reversal.
- Voltage Compatibility: Supports DC 12V or 24V motors (ensure your motor matches the supply voltage).
- Independent Timing: Usually offers two timing controls — one for forward direction delay and another for reverse.
- Compact Form Factor: Ideal for integration into enclosures or space-limited projects.
Common Applications:
- Curtain or window automation
- Conveyor belt direction control
- Mini garage doors or small gates
- Lifting systems
- DIY home automation projects
Basic Working Principle:
- When powered on, the board activates one relay to power the motor in one direction.
- After a preset time, it stops, waits for a delay (optional), and then activates the other relay to reverse the motor direction.
- This loop continues automatically, making it great for repetitive automation tasks.
Programming the YYB-5 Bestep Motor Control Board
1. Power On the Module
- Connect the appropriate DC power supply (12V or 24V) to the module. Ensure the voltage matches your motor's requirements.
2. Enter Programming Mode
- Press the SET button to enter the configuration menu.
3. Select Operation Mode
- Upon entering the menu, the display will show P-1.
- Use the + and - buttons to cycle through available modes (P-1 to P-6).
-
Each mode corresponds to a specific operation:
- P-1: Continuous bidirectional cycle (forward and reverse alternately).
- P-2: Single cycle (forward then reverse once).
- P-3: Forward only.
- P-4: Reverse only.
- P-5: Forward with delay, then stop.
- P-6: Reverse with delay, then stop.
- Press SET to confirm your mode selection.Moussasoft Maroc
4. Set Timing Parameters
-
After selecting the mode, you'll set timing parameters:
- A001: Duration for the forward operation.
- B001: Duration for the reverse operation.
- Use the + and - buttons to adjust the time values.
- Press SET to move between parameters.eBay+1eBay+1
5. Adjust Time Units
-
While setting A001 or B001, press the KEY button to change the time unit:
- 0: 0.1 seconds
- 1: 1 second
- 2: 1 minute
- This allows for precise timing control ranging from 0.1 seconds to 999 minutes.Robu.inREES52
6. Save and Exit
- After configuring all parameters, press and hold the SET button to save settings and exit programming mode.
⚙️ Example Configuration: Continuous Bidirectional Operation
To set the motor to run forward for 10 seconds and reverse for 5 seconds in a continuous loop:
- Enter programming mode by pressing SET.
- Select P-1 using +/-, then press SET.
-
Set A010 (10 seconds forward):
- Use +/- to set A010.
- Press KEY to set the time unit to 1 (seconds).
- Press SET to confirm.
-
Set B005 (5 seconds reverse):
- Use +/- to set B005.
- Press KEY to set the time unit to 1 (seconds).
- Press SET to confirm.
- Press and hold SET to save and exit.
The motor will now alternate between forward and reverse operations continuously, based on the set durations.
📝 Additional Tips
- Manual Control: Pressing the KEY button during operation may pause or resume the cycle, depending on the mode.
- Load Capacity: Ensure your motor's current draw does not exceed the module's maximum switching capacity of 30A.
- Voltage Compatibility: Verify that your power supply voltage matches the module's requirements (12V or 24V).
📝 Safety Notes:
- No speed control: This board controls direction and timing, not speed.
- Limited current handling: Check the relay ratings (usually 10A max at 30V DC or 250V AC) and ensure they match your motor's current draw.
- Basic protection: Some versions include diodes for flyback protection, but not all — external protection may be required for inductive loads.
