Description:
The PICkit 2 Programmer/Debugger by FARESPCB is a compact, USB-driven development tool designed for rapid programming and in-circuit debugging of Microchip® Flash-based PIC® microcontrollers using the ICSP™ interface. Built on the PIC18F2550 USB microcontroller and featuring dual 24LC512 memory chips, it operates both as a traditional PC-controlled programmer and as a standalone field programmer via Programmer-To-Go (PTG) mode. With an integrated direct USB Type-A connector, status LEDs, and target voltage supply capabilities, it provides an efficient, portable solution for firmware developers, educators, and production line deployment.
Key Features:
- Dual Operation Modes: Supports normal PC-controlled software programming/debugging (MPLAB® IDE compatible) and standalone Programmer-To-Go (PTG) mode via the onboard PROG button.
- Integrated USB Type-A Interface: Direct plug-in design eliminates the need for extra USB cables.
- Standalone Memory Storage: Dual 64KB (24LC512) memory chips store firmware images for field updates and production programming without a PC.
- In-Circuit Debugging (ICD): Hardware debugging functions including run/halt control, single-stepping, breakpoint placement, and register/RAM monitoring.
- LED Status Indicators: Visual indicators for Power (PWR), Target Power (TGT), and Activity/Error status (BSY).
- Onboard Power Generation: Supplies target supply voltage ($V_{DD}$) ranging from 2.5V to 5.0V for low-power circuits.
