Product Description

The BTA20-600B is a high-performance, glass-passivated bidirectional AC switch (TRIAC) designed for heavy-duty power control and AC switching applications. Featuring a continuous root mean square (RMS) on-state current rating of 20 Amperes and a peak repetitive off-state voltage capability of 600 Volts, it delivers reliable performance across standard mains AC supplies (110 Volts to 240 Volts AC).

Built using ST-compatible Snubberless technology, the BTA20 series offers high commutation performance (high dI/dt and dV/dt), making it especially well-suited for controlling inductive loads such as electric motors, solenoids, transformers, and heating elements without requiring external RC snubber networks. Housed in an insulated TO-220AB package, it provides internal ceramic insulation up to 2500 Volts RMS between the semiconductor junction and the mounting tab, allowing direct mounting to grounded heat sinks.
